Due to the ever changing designs of 3rd party telescopes and the recent issues Lunt have had trying to match the “specifications” given by these manufacturers. Lunt will no longer offer adapter plates for 3rd party products.
Lunt Solar recommend that Customers pair their Lunt Filters with a Lunt product. This will guarantee the fit and performance of the entire system.
The Lunt LS50FHa Solar Filter is a 50 mm aperture (no central obstruction) integrally tuned etalon for use on Lunt ED Refractors.
Lunt Solar will be introducing a larger selection of ED Telescopes that will meet your Solar needs for Daytime observing and meet the additional requirements of Nighttime observing. In this way you can use one scope for day and night.
Lunt Solar also offer a full line of dedicated Solar Telescopes.
You MUST use a matching Lunt Blocking Filter with a Lunt Solar front mounted Filter (this is a safety requirement). For this reason choose the blocking filter that best suits your requirements for the system. It’s important to realize that a larger blocking filter is recommended for imaging due to the need for in-focus of the camera.
Removing the LS50FHa Solar Filter for night use
The Lunt ED refractors are designed to retrofitted with the LS50FHa Hydrogen-alpha Filter. In this way you can use the ED telescopes during the day. Notably, they are easily removable so that the Lunt ED scope can continue to be used for night observing.
Because the LS50FHa Solar Filter has an estimated bandpass of <0.70 Angstrom it is capable of providing high contrast views of both surface and edge detail. Significantly, adding an additional etalon system (double-stacking) will reduce the bandpass to ~<0.50. Allowing for higher resolution viewing and/or imaging. In addition, the part number LS50FHa is offered for this purpose or for those who already have a Lunt blocking filter.

Warranties will not be valid for products that have been misused or tampered with by the customer, and each manufacturer retains the right to inspect the product to determine whether it is covered by their warranty. If an item needs to be repaired or replaced, the customer is responsible for shipping costs unless otherwise stated.
Please note, you must have proof of purchase (copy of your receipt) in order for the warranty to be valid.

Order Confirmation:
You will receive an e-mail to confirm that your order has been placed. At this point your chosen payment method has been pre-authorized for your purchase.
We will confirm with the supplier that your item(s) are in stock and available for shipment. If your item(s) are in stock we will process payment and ship your order within five business days.
If your order is on back-order we will provide an estimated lead time. If you are happy to wait for the item, we will process payment to secure your order and ship your order as soon as it is available. If you do not wish to wait, we will void the pre-authorization and cancel your order.
If your item is out of stock or unavailable, we will void the pre-authorization and reach out to you via e-mail.
Order Shipment & Delivery:
If your order is in stock and we process the charges to your pre-authorized payment method, it will ship within five business days from the date of your order unless otherwise stated. We will send you tracking information within 24 hours of your order leaving the warehouse to the e-mail address you provided when checking out. If you do not receive tracking information from us within six business days of your order, feel free to follow up with us at orders@stargazingtelescopes.com.
Delivery times will vary based on your location and shipping method that our vendors use. Within mainland USA, Economy shipping generally takes five to eight business days to arrive, and Standard shipping takes approximately three to four business days.
Damages:
Please inspect the packaging of your item(s) when they arrive. If you notice any damage you should make note of it when signing for delivery. If your item(s) do arrive damaged, please send photos to returns@stargazingtelescopes.com and we will contact the manufacturer on your behalf.
Lunt: 30 Day Return Policy. You will require an RMA number which will be issued by Stargazing Telescopes.
We aim to make returns as easy as possible at Stargazing Telescopes. You may return your purchase within the allotted time frame that each manufacturer allows.
You will be responsible for the return shipping charges as well as a 20% restocking fee (20% of the price of product).
To request a return please email returns@stargazingtelescopes.com and include your name, order number and date of purchase. We will also require proof of purchase, which is a copy of the receipt.
Returns must be authorized before being sent. We will contact the manufacturer on your behalf and issue you a RMA number which is mandatory for returns.
To be eligible for a return, your item must:
- be unused and in the same condition that you received it.
- be undamaged and in the original packaging.
Products not eligible for return:
- Products that have been used or tampered with
- Products not in resalable condition
- Custom orders
- Products not in original packaging
- Products that do not have an RMA number
The buyer is responsible for all shipping costs and must use the shipping method as specified by Stargazing Telescopes to ensure the item is not damaged in transit and is tracked and sent safely. Refunds will be processed within 14 working days from the point we have received your return.
Before your refund is approved, the manufacturer will inspect and process the items which can take up to seven business days. Return shipping charges and re-stocking fees are non-refundable. Shipping charges and factory re-stocking fees will be deducted from the total refund amount. You will receive a confirmation email when your return has been processed. Refunds will be credited to the original payment method and can take up to 72 hours to reflect on your statement.
Cancellations:
You may cancel your order any time before your item(s) have shipped. If your items are in-stock / back-ordered there is a $20 cancellation fee applicable before your items have shipped.
If your order has shipped, you (the buyer) will be responsible for return shipping charges (see Return Policy above for detail). Refunds will only be issued to the original payment method that was used when placing your order.
