LS80MT Modular Telescope
The New Lunt LS80MT is a powerhouse modular telescope, taking one of Lunt Solar Systems mosts popular sized telescopes and making it even more functional! At 80mm Aperture, with a FPL53 Doublet Lens, the LS80MT is a precision aligned ED refractor that is made to impress whether you are chasing the Sun’s active regions or sifting through the stars of the milky way. In Hydrogen Alpha configuration single stack mode, the LS80MT provides excellent viewing prowess at <.7angstroms bandpass with Lunt’s reknowned Doppler True Tuning (pressure tuned) system. But dont sleep on its capabilities simply because the Sun goes down!
SFPT– Internal Double Stack Module for LS80MT
Double stacking provides a truly enhanced, high definition view of the Sun’s surface details. Notably, it lowers the bandpass of the system from <0.7 Angstrom to <0.5 Angstrom, which really makes the surface “pop”! The Lunt LS80MT can be internally double-stacked with the SFPT unit at the time of purchase or anytime thereafter. The LS80MT telescope will need not to be returned to the factory for double-stacking.
LS80MT Nighttime Telescope
Coming standard with FPL 53 Doublet Lens, the LS80MT transforms from a fully fledged Hydrogen Alpha Telescope into a night time or terrestrial telescope in only moments. Remove your Hydrogen Alpha module, or modules if you are double stacked, and replace with the backing plate and focuser (optional/available in packages) to start traveling between the stars at night or for terrestrial applications during the day. The Ultimate in transportability, the LS80MT is big enough to impress even the most seasoned astronomer, while maintaining a size appropriate to carry on a plane while traveling.
Versatile Telescope
With Lunt Solar Systems new Modular Telescope line up, versatility is the name of the game; and the LS80MT is no slouch- able to be used with all of our popular wavelengths (Hydrogen Alpha, White Light, Calcium K), you will never have a shortage of viewing possibilities. And at 80mm, the LS80MT is the perfect size for less than perfect viewing during Hydrogen Alpha configuration, making it a popular and perfect choice for inner city applications.
True Doppler Tuning
Importantly, True Doppler Tuning allows for a shift into and away from the user, adding a 3-D like component to the viewing experience. To be sure, it has minimal effect on proms due to their location at the edge of the disk, but it does have an effect on filaments and likewise the active regions on the surface. Also while looking at a filament at the center of the Sun, the user has the ability to Doppler shift from the base of the filament to the tip. In this way following the filament through it’s structure toward you and away from you. Amazingly, this allowing for enhanced visual and imaging capability for the observer as well as a research tool for the avid hobbyist. In addition the pressure tuning system provides an order of magnitude more precision to the tuning of the desired features.

At Stargazing Telescopes we are dedicated to making sure our customers receive the highest quality products. Warranties will not be valid for products that have been misused or tampered with by the customer, and each manufacturer retains the right to inspect the product to determine whether it is covered by their warranty. If an item needs to be repaired or replaced, the customer is responsible for shipping costs unless otherwise stated.
Please note, you must have proof of purchase (copy of your receipt) in order for the warranty to be valid.

Order Confirmation:
You will receive an e-mail to confirm that your order has been placed. At this point your chosen payment method has been pre-authorized for your purchase.
We will confirm with the supplier that your item(s) are in stock and available for shipment. If your item(s) are in stock we will process payment and ship your order within five business days.
If your order is on back-order we will provide an estimated lead time. If you are happy to wait for the item, we will process payment to secure your order and ship your order as soon as it is available. If you do not wish to wait, we will void the pre-authorization and cancel your order.
If your item is out of stock or unavailable, we will void the pre-authorization and reach out to you via e-mail.
Order Shipment & Delivery:
If your order is in stock and we process the charges to your pre-authorized payment method, it will ship within five business days from the date of your order unless otherwise stated. We will send you tracking information within 24 hours of your order leaving the warehouse to the e-mail address you provided when checking out. If you do not receive tracking information from us within six business days of your order, feel free to follow up with us at orders@stargazingtelescopes.com.
Delivery times will vary based on your location and shipping method that our vendors use. Within mainland USA, Economy shipping generally takes five to eight business days to arrive, and Standard shipping takes approximately three to four business days.
Damages:
Please inspect the packaging of your item(s) when they arrive. If you notice any damage you should make note of it when signing for delivery. If your item(s) do arrive damaged, please send photos to returns@stargazingtelescopes.com and we will contact the manufacturer on your behalf.
Lunt: 30 Day Return Policy. You will require an RMA number which will be issued by Stargazing Telescopes.
We aim to make returns as easy as possible at Stargazing Telescopes. You may return your purchase within the allotted time frame that each manufacturer allows.
You will be responsible for the return shipping charges as well as a 20% restocking fee (20% of the price of product).
To request a return please email returns@stargazingtelescopes.com and include your name, order number and date of purchase. We will also require proof of purchase, which is a copy of the receipt.
Returns must be authorized before being sent. We will contact the manufacturer on your behalf and issue you a RMA number which is mandatory for returns.
To be eligible for a return, your item must:
- be unused and in the same condition that you received it.
- be undamaged and in the original packaging.
Products not eligible for return:
- Products that have been used or tampered with
- Products not in resalable condition
- Custom orders
- Products not in original packaging
- Products that do not have an RMA number
The buyer is responsible for all shipping costs and must use the shipping method as specified by Stargazing Telescopes to ensure the item is not damaged in transit and is tracked and sent safely. Refunds will be processed within 14 working days from the point we have received your return.
Before your refund is approved, the manufacturer will inspect and process the items which can take up to seven business days. Return shipping charges and re-stocking fees are non-refundable. Shipping charges and factory re-stocking fees will be deducted from the total refund amount. You will receive a confirmation email when your return has been processed. Refunds will be credited to the original payment method and can take up to 72 hours to reflect on your statement.
Cancellations:
You may cancel your order any time before your item(s) have shipped. If your items are in-stock / back-ordered there is a $20 cancellation fee applicable before your items have shipped.
If your order has shipped, you (the buyer) will be responsible for return shipping charges (see Return Policy above for detail). Refunds will only be issued to the original payment method that was used when placing your order.
