Accurate Polar Alignment with Ease
Accurate polar alignment is essential for successful long exposure astrophotography with the POLARIE. The POLARIE polar scope PF-L II comes equipped with a special reticle which is designed for a simple and accurate polar alignment. You bring Polaris and two other stars into the polar scope's field of view so that each can be matched with the designated position on the scale in the reticle. That's all you have to do for the polar alignment.
What is the polar alignment? In the northern hemisphere, stars appear to turn around the north celestial pole (near Polaris). This is called diurnal motion and you will need to set up the POLARIE in the direction of the NCP to follow the rotation of the stars. Turn the POLARIE to the NCP in the southern hemisphere.Â
